Not much is known about Emil. He speaks in a monotone and is very blunt about what he thinks. He comes by his memory issues honestly, as his father Celcie is just as absent as he is. The two often get separated because of this, but at the end of the day, they both always get back home safely.
The problem is that his memory issues aren't a product of poor genetic luck; they were completely avoidable.
There was an accident. Nobody dared to speak about it until it was forgotten, but Celcie knew. Celcie saw it happen. Celcie refused to let it be forgotten, so they had to make him forget. The problem was that the amnestics they put him on were less than orthodox. Part of it was medicinal, and they told him it was something for his blood pressure. The other part was a procedure. It wasn't surgical, but more like an MRI. At the end of it all, the whole ordeal edited Celcie's dna, thus causing Emil to have similar memory issues.
They were so thorough with wiping his memory of the event off the map that they relocated him so that he wouldn't see familiar surroundings that would jog his memory. Thus, they covertly chose conton city, where he would live as a civilian with his newly laid egg baby. Emil hatched shortly afterwards, and the rest is history. He has never met anyone from his original timeline other than his dad, and if luck is on their side, he never will. He will never know why he was born and raised in conton instead of on his home planet, he will never know why the other icejin kids are creeped out by him, he will never know why him and his dad are the way that they are, and he will never know why he looks so different from his father.
